Agree on inspection methods, sample preparation and acceptance criteria with the specification owner. Include the relevant coating condition, adhesion, finish and durability measures.
Represent production variability
Use samples that reflect substrate, preparation, thickness and geometry. Record environmental and process conditions so results can be interpreted and repeated.
Document the limits
Keep failed and inconclusive outcomes alongside successful results. Use the evidence to determine whether further development, a revised trial or a different process is appropriate.
